What are the elements of the injection molding process?

Five elements of the injection molding process:

1. Injection pressure:

Injection pressure refers to the melt pressure acting on the screw head during injection molding. It is used to overcome the flow resistance of plastic flowing through nozzles, runners, gates and mold cavities, and to compact the cavity.

2. Injection time:

Injection time refers to the time required for the plastic melt to fill the cavity, excluding auxiliary time such as mold opening and closing. The injection molding time is much lower than the cooling time, which is about one tenth of the time. This rule can be used as a basis for predicting the entire molding time of the plastic part.

3. Injection temperature:

The injection molding machine barrel has five to six heating sections, and each raw material has its own suitable processing temperature. The injection temperature must be controlled within a certain range. If the temperature is too low, the plasticization of the melt will be poor, which will affect the quality of the molded parts and increase the difficulty of the process; if the temperature is too high, the raw materials will be easy to separate.

4. Injection speed:

refers to the filling speed of the mold when the screw is used as a punch.

5. Injection position:

When the screw is injected with the set speed and pressure, the set position is the injection position, and the injection position has little to do with the material storage.
